Mangue Seco is the last beach in the far north coast of Bahia located in the municipality of Jandaíra, bordering the state of Sergipe. The beauty of the place was well portrayed in the soap opera “Tieta”, broadcasted by Globo and inspired by the novel “Tieta do Agreste” by Jorge Amado. This production further encouraged tourism on site, when Brazil came to know all the beauty of the place, which protects numerous dunes and pristine landscapes of rivers and sea. The immense dunes move with the wind and move forward wanting to cover up everything. The difficulty of access – only by boat, through Rio Real ( Royal River) – is what makes Mangue Seco more attractive and keeps naturally rustic. The few streets are covered with fine, soft sand.
